How to use your GPT API key

Get your API key

After purchase, we'll send your dedicated API key via WhatsApp. You'll also find it in your account dashboard under API Keys. The key starts with `sk-`.

Install Chatbox on any device

Download **Chatbox** — a free app for all platforms:

- **iOS**: Get it on the App Store
- **Browser**: Use the web version directly — no install needed

It works seamlessly with custom OpenAI-compatible APIs.

Configure Chatbox

Open Chatbox → Settings → **AI Provider** → **OpenAI API Compatible**. Set:

- **API Key**: Your GPT key
- **API Domain**: `https://api.virtusub.xyz/v1`

Click **Save**.

Choose a model

In the chat window, pick a model from the dropdown. Available models include: **gpt-4o**, **gpt-4.1**, **gpt-4o-mini**, **chatgpt-4o-latest**. GPT-4o is recommended for the best balance of speed and quality.

Start using it

You're all set! The key works with any OpenAI-compatible tool: OpenAI Python SDK, Cursor, Continue.dev, Windsurf, or direct API calls. Use the base URL `https://api.virtusub.xyz/v1` and your API key.

Pro tip

All our AI models use a single compatible API format. If you can configure one, you can configure them all. The base URL https://api.virtusub.xyz/v1 works for every AI model key.

Frequently asked questions

How many requests can I make?

Your key has a concurrency limit. The dashboard shows your current usage and remaining quota. Contact us on WhatsApp if you need higher limits.

Can I use this with Cursor / VS Code?

Yes! In Cursor, go to Settings → Models → Add custom model, set the API endpoint to `https://api.virtusub.xyz/v1` and enter your API key.
